Went out for dinner with D-Flyer and then watched a movie that he had recently bought and wanted me to see. We fumbled a bit over deciding where to go eat, my excuse was that it's not my neighborhood and I have not been around there for years and I just don't get out much really. So I blurted out Hamilton Street Grill as it was the only place I could think of that I had been to in Yaletown. So we went there and well, it was a bit more of the full on dining experience than we were looking for (that means expensive) and Duh, it was a 'Grill' and thus very meat-centric. We decided to abort and used my vegetarianism as an excuse as the only veg item on the menu was the Mushroom Risotto which, as I recall from my last visit, was what I had last time and it wasn't all that. Well it wasn't $26 of all that.
So we went to my second choice (why am I still the one deciding, I failed the first time) which was Thai Bistro. I know of them just because they are one of our customers. Anyway, it turned out to be great. We had a great time visiting an joking around. Had a delicious meal and the service was fast and furious. well OK, fast and friendly. I was puzzled though by the placement of a Red Bull mini fridge on the bar displaying a selection of Red Bull. The whole place was properly and completely finished in Thai decor and then this one glaringly inappropriate and out of place cooler on the bar. How significant can Red Bull sales be at a Thai restaurant. Must be a smooth talking sales rep.
So D-Flyer had recently rented and then purchased this 2007 movie called "For the Bible tells me so" which is a documentary on homosexuality and the bible. It was extremely well done and really a great movie. Here is a trailer.
It follows the lives of 5 families and their experiences in dealing with how the Scripture and having a gay family member affected their lives. I found it very interesting and informative to watch and very moving of course. It was a very well done documentary and I plan on purchasing it and hopefully watching it with my family. I highly recommend it for anyone whose life is effected by this subject.
